Modified Kid Pitch (Ages 6-8)
Modified Kid Pitch is the next step for developing players, typically ages 6 to 8, who are ready to begin pitching and hitting against live pitching in a supportive and instructional environment. This division serves as a crucial bridge between Coach Pitch and full Kid Pitch baseball.
In Modified Kid Pitch, players begin to pitch to each other with coach support available when needed to maintain the pace of the game and keep it fun for everyone. This format helps young pitchers learn mechanics and gain confidence while ensuring hitters still have plenty of chances to swing and make plays.
The game begins to resemble traditional baseball with real pitching, strikeouts, but it's still focused on learning, development, and good sportsmanship. Modified Kid Pitch gives players the chance to grow their skills and better understand the flow of the game — all while continuing to enjoy the fun, team-centered experience that Little League is all about.
