Kid Pitch - Minors & Majors Divisions (Ages 9-12)
Kid Pitch is where baseball starts to mirror the full game experience, with players pitching to each other and developing advanced skills in a competitive, yet supportive, environment. This level is split into two divisions — Minors and Majors — based on age and experience to ensure players are appropriately challenged.
Both divisions offer a supportive, team-first atmosphere where kids can grow as athletes and individuals. Whether your child is developing their pitching mechanics or chasing the dream of Williamsport, Kid Pitch with McKinney Little League provides the opportunity to play, improve, and love the game.Minors Division (Ages 9-11)
The Minors division is a great introduction to full-time Kid Pitch baseball. Players pitch to one another and learn the finer points of the game, such as pitch counts, walks, and situational awareness. While the games are more structured and competitive, the focus is still on development and learning. The Minors division is ideal for players building their confidence and preparing for the Majors level.
Majors Division (Ages 9-12)
The Majors division is the highest level of Little League play before players move on to Intermediate or Junior divisions. Games follow official Little League rules, including pitching limits, leading off after the pitch crosses the plate, and tournament eligibility.
At this level, players refine their skills, compete at a higher level, and take on leadership roles within their teams. The Majors division is also where players can begin their journey toward the Little League International Tournament and the iconic Little League World Series.
Coaches continue to emphasize fundamentals while helping players understand game strategy, teamwork, and responsibility on the field.
