All Stars – Frequently Asked Questions

What age divisions will have All Star teams?
All Star teams are rostered based on overall player participation in each age group. Depending on registration numbers, teams may be formed in the following divisions:

  • 10U: League Ages 8–10
  • 11U: League Ages 9–11
  • 12U: League Ages 10–12
  • 13U: League Ages 11–13

Not all divisions are guaranteed each season.

How are All Star teams selected?
The All Star selection process occurs in multiple steps:

  1. The local Little League Board selects the All Star coaches.
  2. Tryouts are held for players interested in participating at their eligible age division.
  3. Players are selected based on multiple factors, including:
    • Tryout performance
    • Regular season performance
    • Input from All Star coaches
    • Input from the local Little League Board

When do All Star games start?
Specific tournament dates are not finalized until approximately 60 days before play begins.
Historically, the District Tournament typically begins in mid‑June, and local leagues plan around that general timeframe.

Are any players automatically added to an All Star team?
No. There are no automatic selections.
All players must:

  • Be eligible by league age
  • Participate in tryouts
  • Be formally selected through the All Star selection process

Can an entire regular‑season team be selected as an All Star team?
No. To prevent pre‑formed “select” or tournament teams from advancing, Little League rules limit selections.
No more than four (4) players from the same regular‑season team may be selected to a single All Star roster.

Can a 10‑year‑old play on the 12U All Star team?
Yes, in some cases.
Players who demonstrate advanced skill and readiness may be selected to play in a higher age division, even if they are younger than most players on that team. These decisions are made carefully and on a case‑by‑case basis.

Are there any requirements for the players to be eligible?
Yes.
Players need to meet the following criteria: live within the leagues boundaries, be able to prove residency, start in a minimum of 8 regular season games.
